DESCRIPTION TOUR

This excursion begins with a visit to the largest botanical garden in Spain, which covers almost 59 hectares and is filled with examples of Macaronesian plant life.

We will then go on to explore the capital city of Las Palmas starting with the stately Vegueta area, strolling through cobbled streets to the Cathedral and Santa Ana Square, the Town Hall and Columbus House. From there we will head to Santa Catalina Square where you can take some time off to go shopping, visit Las Canteras Beach or just stroll around the neighbourhood.

Leaving the capital, we will drive up the Guayadeque Ravine, one of the longest and deepest on the island. We will stop to see a town of Cave-dwellings with time off to enjoy the area, the cave hermitage of Saint Bartholomew or have lunch at the Cave- restaurant. From there we will visit the village’s Heritage Interpretation Centre where the life-style of the ancient Canarians will be explained.

The last stop will be at the lovely village of Agüimes where we will get to stroll through the streets, visit the church of Saint Sebastian and learn the significance of the statues we will see along the way. Return to your hotels.
